Default Buying used...

Hi GS owners,

I was looking to finance a 2019 es f sport but wanted to check on the GS.

I found a 2016 GS F sport with 35k miles and listed for $33k. Its Lexus certified so im pressuming it qualifys for the december to remember special financing so like 0-1.9 APR?

would this be a good price? Im trying to lower it to 30k, will see if they will move on that pricing.

thanks everyone

I'm sure you will get some great advice here, but I wanted to say, which car you get really depends on what you are looking for. If you want a FUN, AWD, driving experience, GS is a no brainer. The ES is a great car, and fsport in S+ mode will be worlds better than a regular ES, but FWD will never come close to the joy of driving my GS. Of course, if AWD isn't a big deal, you can throw that consideration out (though I'm sure RWD is even more fun).
But, if you want the latest infotainment and amenities, including Apple car play (think android auto is only on 2020 ES) as well as the most updated interior, ES is the way to go.

All that said, I'd go with the best financial decision for you obviously.

$33k for a 3yr old GS350 F-Sport is right in the sweet spot - most Lexus dealers will look to offload 3yr old F-Sports for around $35k (depending on mileage, condition and if its CPO'd).

I doubt you'll be able to get them down more than $1000 off the $33k price - but make them an offer below and see if that will begin the negotiation process...Good luck

Check the Carfax for maintenance history and if it was in an accident.

I was in a similar spot over the summer where I was choosing between 19 ES Fsport and 16+ CPO GS Fsport.
Long story short - I ended up with 17 CPO GS FSport AWD as I liked the look of the GS more and obviously less expensive than a brand new ES. In my case over $10k diff.

I did test drive the ES Fsport and drove an ES Hybrid for a week. Although ES was nice, I felt the fit/finish of the GS interior is better.

Besides new vs used, key trade-offs for me are gas mileage, premium gas for GS, and no apple car play.
Other than that I'm happy with the GS.

This is my personal feeback - I had a 2019 ES as a loaner and the interior felt cheap compared to the GS. I recently purchased my 2016 GS350 F-Sport, L-Certified with 33k miles for $30k. The car runs great and was extremely well kept. If you want a nice one go for it. I installed the VLINE LITE and now I have apple carplay starting up on boot. No issues at all.

wow 30k, what zip code is that?

Im in 19136 and alot of dealers around me would not move on their pricing. I finally hit a dealer that's willing to negotiate on their 2016 GS F sport and i'm trying to lower them from 35k to 32k, L-Certified with 28k miles.
Whats weird is that the carfax did not show the leaser doing the 5k, 10k maintences, but yet it is L-Certified.

Yes, same boat. The ES F sport we have negotiated down by 11.5% MSRP but it will still be about 10k diff than paying a CPO 2016 GS F Sport.

I know I will get a lot of disagreement on this but just pump regular for the GS. I have done so for all of my GS' including the 4th gen one and the 4th gen has about 130k miles on it now and is doing just fine. I am also not always close to the redline when I drive and I do sometimes drive spiritedly.
