Default Gas mileage...

Good morning...

Just being inquisitive, but curious to know if anyone has surpassed 400 miles on a full tank? I've had my '14 GS350 AWD F Sport for just over 2 years. Purchased it CPO with about 21k miles and I've just crossed the 80k mile mark. When I first got the car, I barely reached 300 miles/tank when the gas light would come on, and a few times around 290 miles or so. I was driving an '09 Acura TL w/SH-AWD for the previous 6 years. Even though the tank in the Acura was a gallon larger than the GS (I believe), I was getting mid 300's before needing gas. Over the last 12 months, though, I can typically get to around 330 miles or a little more, before the light comes on. That's a big improvement from the first year of my ownership. About 90% of the time, I drive in Sport+ mode.

Typically with a mix between highway and city driving with more of an emphasis on highway, I’m able to get about 340 or so before needing to pump. I was able to get 390 miles on a full tank but this was on a road trip going 70-75 constantly... we have pretty small tanks overall compared to Germans so not too bad at all.

GSh here: I can normally get about 450 miles+ if I'm doing a mix of city and highway. I've pushed it to 475+ when doing a cross country trip but then I got too scared of running out of gas, lol.

Since most of my driving these days is city focused, I get somewhere around 420ish.

I would think for the non-hybrid, 350-375 would be common. If you don't have a heavy foot, could it possibly have to do with winter gas? Or possibly tire pressure?

My GS is by far the worst car I've ever had in terms of fuel mileage. I barely get 200 miles per tank.

I get about 295 from full until the gas light comes on, so probably about 320 or so on a tank.

On a highway road trip I can hit about 450 on a tank (28-29 mpg).

Maybe there is something wrong with your car and might need to get it checked out. That's pretty poor mileage unless you floor it everywhere you go but even then that's still worse than my Gallardo flooring it around town with a thirsty V10.

I'm usually in Eco mode and try to drive calmly but get a little crazy every now and then... not as much as I used to though. Getting tired of gassing up all the time. Majority of my driving is city though so maybe that has something to do with it?

Mostly city driving i get around 12-15mpg on my AWD '13 GS (208 - 261 miles per tank). I've gotten mid-twenties MPG on the highway.

I don't think there is anything wrong with the car as its been this way since day way (its a non F Sport; I drive 90% in Normal mode; 10% Sport) although my personal mechanic thought my fuel pump was a little noisy when I first bought it.

Worse than your Q50? If you're only getting 200 miles per tank, yeah. But that's hard to believe your mileage so is bad. Maybe you're misusing the ECO mode?
"frequent acceleration" to me means stop and go traffic.. rush hour. Using ECO "softens" the acceleration so the ride is smoother and less jerky, but requires additional pedal travel for higher acceleration.
Doesn't quite make any kind of sense when thinking higher fuel consumption... but I can't get past that 200 miles to a tank. You sure you're not filling up at the1/4 mark? LOL.

In my 2016 GS 200T (non F-Sport), I usually get 485 to 510 miles from a tank (17.4 gallon) according to the trip computer. This is with 60/40 hwy/city driving, 90% of time in Eco mode. I have never manually calculated how many miles I get from a tank. Here is a picture after my last fillup.

I consistently get 25-27 mpg, 100% in town, no freeway driving with my 2013 GS350 rwd F-Sport. I never use eco mode. I admit, Tucson traffic is nothing like LA or NYC, but I am convinced it’s all about how you drive it.

Absolutely worse than my Q50 and I drove that car pretty hard majority of the time. We had a Mercedes ML63 with a 6.2 liter V8 that averaged around 12 mpg. My GS seems to be pretty comparable in terms of fuel economy with an average of about 14 mpg. I usually fill up when the needle reaches empty.

Here's what the car says, though I don't remember the last time I reset the MPG on the second screen/photo.

I noticed a big improvement in MPG after I started doing my own oil changes with Mobile 1 synthetic 0w-20 on my 2013 AWD GS350 (62k miles). I went from 17.5 mpg mixed driving to 22.5 mixed driving. Makes me wonder what oil the shop was putting in even though I would specify synthetic 0w-20.

That would be absolutely impossible! It is a wild figment of your imagination...
