Default Backup camera guidelines: when do they turn?

I searched for this but didn't find what I was looking for.

My 2013 Backup Camera Guidelines do not turn in response to the steering wheel position.
Are they supposed to turn?

I have seen pictures of other cars where the guidelines are obviously turned.
Did that start in a certain year?
Is that a mod that can be done to add that?

I believe it was added for model year 2015.

2014 and they do not turn with the wheel, just static lines.

Looking up pictures online, it looks like the guidelines were static for 2013-14, then dynamic for 2015 and on.

I can't find anything in the press releases about it.

Those trajectory parking lines are a huge help. We have a very tight garage, I use those lines every time I back my GS into the garage without curbing the wheels. Can't say the same for my wife's MDX though. She managed to curbed all 4 wheels even with guided lines and backup camera!

I park rear-in 99.9% of the time, and I find those trajectory lines just confuse me. Much prefer to turn my head and use the side mirrors .

The more and more I read about stuff Lexus added in 2015 to the 4GS before giving it the predator face in 2016, the more I think this car is going to become more and more rare. Too bad I drive mine soo much 😄

That's interesting, my 2012 has turning lines. Is there a computer that does that or is it the head unit? Swap the relevant computer out and it should work with the rest of your pre refresh car.

I kind of view the 15 GS as the sweet spot of the 4th generation.

Okay: 2015 is the year it begins.

Now: What makes it happen? Is it the 2015 Radio? Are there other things that need to be upgraded?

But correct in the US, where the OP resides and drives a US spec model.

So? You'd have more luck swapping out the part from a 2012 Japan spec than 2016 US spec - there are significant differences behind the dash between years let alone the facelift.

Mine turns on my 2014 model.

I had to enable in the infotainment system, it was not enabled by default. I have the big 12 inch system.

Not sure if this helps anyone but these are the components that contribute to the reversing guidance system!
