Its good they are trying to do something to get prices down - anyone rocking a GS450h right now has got the best of both worlds - all the performance, reliability and comforts of the GS with great gas mileage! Sometimes with my AWD, i'm lucky to get 15-16mpg in the city.
True! I continue to be impressed with the GS 450h in all regards - fuel efficiency, performance, smoothness of the hybrid operation, reliability, handling, comforts, features and build quality.
I had a Lexus tech tell me he attended a Lexus hybrid training meeting where a talking point was made about the GS 450h receiving extra scrutiny in terms of build quality, to the extent that special focus even went into making sure interior sounds were eliminated with extra deadening materials. The GS 450h is definitely quite a special car.
Oh damn.. Looks like u'll be trading in first before me then.
I'm in the market actually but not going to pay these insane prices. It's been 9+ wonderful years with the GS. I'm torn between a fun sporty car or a more utilitarian vehicle such as a truck or SUV. I don't drive much so gas prices don't concern me just yet.
My 2007 GS350 with a 2GR-FSE engine has a gas cap that does not have any Ethanol restrictions on it. The 2007 Owner's Manual states under the Fuels Specification page that Lexus allows 10% ethanol blending.
My personal preference is to avoid gasoline with any ethanol added since ethanol attracts moisture, and any water in a fuel system can cause real problems. I would be opposed to increasing the allowable % to move to 15%. Iowa corn growers gonna love this change.
The QuikTime stations here in the Austin area offer no ethanol gas, but the octane is only 90 and it costs as much or a few cents more than 93 premium E10
