I did as well. The unit works really well and gets better almost each week with updates. Wireless Airplay coming soon.

Very happy I took the "risk".

I am backing up that statement. I can't picture myself driving my car without this. With wireless CarPlay coming soon, it only gets better from there.

Another happy GROM customer here. And I was one of the very early adopters. Sure there were some bugs at the beginning, but GROM did a very good job fixing them all. Rock solid last few months for me. I would have sold my car if I didn't have VL2 in my GS. @Sampaxi I noticed you're out of the country. I believe GROM support and return policy doesn't apply for those folks. Yes, you did took a risk buying it, but you should have read the fine prints before clicking the purchase button. Hopefully GROM will work with you to take it back. Paying return shipping should be on your dime since you're out of the country...sounds fair to me.

I'll agree with @jdpdata. I was going to get rid of my RXh u til I found GROM VLine. I've actually been a longtime customer of their. I used their wireless Bluetooth setup for my 1st Gen IS and have nothing but good things to say. Of course there were some issues with the VLine but they've since worked through them and now absolutely love my car and it's entertainment. My friends actually lose their minds when I run youtube or any video on the GROM through my system lol

Can you guys give more details about how you routed the wires to the glove compartment box? Is the back of the box easily accessible when you take apart the center for the radio?

You do have 30 days warranty and GROM is very good with support IMO. You could try LSailt or Carlink..not sure if they're available for your CT though. Go do some research.
I know this is not the CT forum but there is no Grom Audio forum on the CT so I will post my impressions over here. Even that you warned me about issues with Gen 6, I pulled the trigger and got the VL2 for my 2012 Lexus CT200h.

Here is what I found after 1 hour of installation and 5 hours of dealing with issues:

1.- Switching between inputs (CD, USB, Bluetooth, FM, etc) gave me most of the time black screen after 5 secs of selecting the input. Meaning if I'm on VLine, press CD or SETUP, then I get the factory OEM screen and after 5 secs goes totally black. I had to turn OFF and ON ignition to get factory screen back.

2.- Volume overlay from factory when VLine is used, does not work at all and they said to me before purchasing that it will work. Same for A/C controls. They do not pop up on the screen like I saw in many videos. This is not a deal breaker.

3.- Can't go to USB Audio Settings to adjust Treble, Bass, Balance and Fade when in VLine mode. In the user manual that came with the unit says to press SCAN button 3 times, I did and nothing happened. On the online manual says DISPLAY button 3 times but neither of the two worked. I can't get into the USB Audio settings to make adjustments to the audio when VLine is connected. I have to unplug VLine, put all the factory wires back to get USB Audio settings back and make adjustments. This is a total deal breaker.

4.- Rear camera works and it goes back to VLine.

5.- CarPlay works perfectly which is the interface I would like to use but not having access to the USB Audio settings makes it impossible to use.

6.- I did like the interface and CarPlay looks amazing which is the feature I was looking to have but in general, for Gen 6 it has so many glitches that it would be even dangerous driving when in VLine mode as when the screen goes black, which is every time you switch inputs, you have to pull over to turn OFF and ON ignition.

7.- I had to restart the VLine several times after getting the black screen and after downloading some apps. Firmware update and GGapps installation went well.

I'm contacting them Monday to find out if they can fix these issues, otherwise I will be requesting a RMA.

Once you take the radio out and drop the bottom of glovebox, it will be apparent where you should route the wires. Good news is there's a lot of space back there, you should have no problems routing all the cables. However you will have to cut a hole in the door that hides the cabin air filter to route cable through glovebox. Search for pictures in this thread, I know I posted a bunch when I did my install. Installation is very easy. 90 mins tops for a complete novice like me.

I agree, it was very easy. Also, I didn't even bother cutting a hole in the door, I just left the door off and called it a day. Honestly I never even open the glovebox so I couldn't care less if there's a door there or not.

Any ideas to fix the mic audio issues? I purchased a ground loop adapter but it didn’t help much.

I have mine switch back over to the OEM system for all phone calls. No issues.

@gromaudio can we get a fix for this? I also cannot use the phone with CarPlay and I am sure I am not the only one. I have tried different mics, the OEM mic and a customized mic array from ReSpeaker and the phone audio always sounds like complete crap; highly distorted and the actual transmit speech level is very low. I know this can be solved by a firmware fix.

You have to connect OEM Bluetooth, and upon reciving calls switch to car bluetooth , not carplay/AA.
