I just noticed my '15 GS 350 F-Sport doesn't have a physical A/C button is that by design? It kind of sucks I have to go into the atrocious menu system to enable/disable this? They have physical buttons for just about everything else for climate control but not A/C--What gives?

I never understood this... seriously bugs me to this day.
Yep, it has approached that time of year that I don't want the AC running when it is less than 70°F outside. I used to resort to Off and Auto but I need heat in the mornings now so I've had to mouse over and fix it. This is my first hot to cold season with the GS so I'm using the seat heat some to offset the change before I jumped into the menu.
I just leave mine in AUTO all of the time. Then if it needs to run the AC compressor, it can, and if it doesn't need it, it won't. My IS had the AC button but I never used it once. I know this item really irks some owners but for me it's a non-issue.
The Lexus air conditioning system is far smarter than you are. There is a good reason there is no A/C button where you can turn Off the compressor - it's not like you are driving a 20 year-old Honda Civic. The system should be left in Auto. The system determines whether the compressor needs to operate to remove humidity because it's too high for comfort and to prevent window fogging. The compressor is not used just to cool the cabin during warm weather. Leave it in Auto and let the system do its job...

I'm going to partially disagree. When the external humidity is high, it will actually fog up your side glass with EXTERNAL condensation on the glass. That's when I want to turn it off.
Turned on for heat the other day. The A/C was in the on mode so I shut it off. Got into car later in the day and A/C was back on. Why doesn't it stay off? Haven't read other link yet.

If the AC is off, it should remain off. The only thing I can think of is if you pressed the AUTO mode.... by default, pressing the Auto Mode will turn on the AC.
Honestly, people are making it a bigger deal than it really is. What cryptic menu? In my car I can turn off the AC in 2 steps with the joystick controller thingy. And yes, once it's off, it stays off until you hit auto again. #FirstWorldProblems
Leave it on. If you need heat then turn up the temperature. I'll lay down $100 that if you comprehensively measured it, you won't have any real mileage loss versus manually turning it off.
In fact, the lower temperature and winter gas will contribute to more MPG loss by far.

I don't quite remember, but there might be a personalization setting to turn the auto AC off.

Because you shouldn't need extra steps and needing to navigate through a screen over using a simple intuitive button, the mouse controller is annoying and needlessly difficult to use, not something you should be fooling around with while driving.

Personally I love the mouse thing. I like it better than the stupid wheel on other cars. Regardless, it's still not a big deal. Could it be better? Sure. But oh well.
