Maybe your headlight bulb is almost dead and just needs to be replaced. It's odd that it turns on then off. Then again I've never replaced an hid bulb because it died so I don't know of this is a common symptom when the bulb is on its last days.

Could be a bad ballast. I've seen this happen with aftermarket hid bulbs.

The ballast will be covered under warranty. The bulb may not be.

I would assume so since your car is only 3 years old.

I would think any D4S 4300k bulb will work. I looked for LED bulbs nothing found available for replacement. I'm looking to match aftermarket LED 6k fog lights and hope something comes up.

Has anyone changed out only one bulb? There seems to be a wide range of D4S bulbs available that will "fit" but I'd like the color to be the same for both headlights. Do I need to spend $150 for the Sylvania bulb suggested by Advance Auto (which I've been unable to independently verify as OEM) or will a $44 Phillips bulb match and last as long? 2014 Lexus GS350 AWD (not F or F-sport). Thanks.
