Conservatively Looking at 2018 GS350s
Fellow Lexus GS Drivers,
I currently have a 2015 GS 350 F Sport and am now considering buying a 2018 GS 350. I don’t necessarily have to get another F Sport after spending $1,200, on just front brakes, earlier this year. I have about 35K miles on my 2015 and got a sweet deal when I bought it. Nothing is wrong with the car and based on KBB.COM the trade in value should just cover the payoff. I’m in Georgia so has anyone seen or received great deals on 2018 luxury or F Sport models in this area. I’m really trying to determine if a good deal is worth the time and energy to get one done or if I should just keep my current car.

I'd probably go drive a new one and decide from there. I bought an 18 back in December in Houston from a high volume dealer. I did a search nationwide for the best deal and flew in and bought the car. Probably not as easy for you to do since your trading the car. I have no regrets buying mine and love the car. I found it was easier to just deal with the general manager of a dealership vs. a salesman. The salesmen I dealt with tended to want to add extra fees after the agreed OTD price which made me move onto another dealer. There's a few pretty big dealers in the Atlanta area that ya might wanna check. Let us know what you end up doing.

I keep getting letters in the mail saying that I can upgrade my 2013 GS to a 2018 for something like $36-$38k (they're giving me about $15k trade in value for my 2013 without inspecting it and knowing its actual mileage). I personally just throw the offers away since its not worth it to me.
If you really get the itch the trade, I'd go the route of finding a really low mileage 2016 since it has the new refreshed look and there isn't much difference between a 2018 and a 2016. This way the primary depreciation hit is taken by someone else and you get the benefit!
Cars I would consider as the 2016 will likely be warrantied through 2020 and through 2022 if certified:

Best email offer I got was in Atlanta but there was an Alabama dealer wanting to give me 1k more but personally wasn’t worth the compromise of not getting my color and options I wanted. Paying 1k more was definitely worth the custom order

If you OWN a 2015 or close to paying it off, buying an 18 is kinda silly, unless you're obsessed with the newer F-sport instrument panel or getting stuff like LKA, radar, etc... (way more common on the newer years) Otherwise you're just burning cash for the sake of burning cash. It's almost the same car. If you pay off the 15 then you end up in gravy-land, which is good.
The only way I would ever consider trading up for an 18 is if the first time around I sucked for buying a color/interior combo I didn't want, etc. Otherwise dumping in the same line is kinda silly, you're mostly moving sideways, not up.

If anyone is looking to sell a 2017-2018 GS350 could you reach out to me before trading in?
Willing to pay a fair private party price.
Ideally: silver/gray/white, black interior, f-sport, under 100k miles. Not too picky on AWD or RWD.
Also open to 2016 models if you have the safety+ package on it (blind spot monitoring, auto braking, lane assist, etc)
