Default Help - Driver Rear Window Acting Strange

Hi all -

I just got into an interesting problem where my drivers side rear window will not respond to the master window switch. Additionally, it does not respond to its corresponding door's auto functions. Non-auto on the rear door works fine.

Also, this may or may not be related, the driver master control switch lights are flashing on the 3 door switches that arent the driver front window.

Anybody with more knowledge of this car than I have a guess at what is going on?

Thanks

Have you changed your battery or had it disconnected recently? Try going to each door and holding the window switches until they cycle all the way down and up. Has your sunroof lost the auto open and close function too?

Battery dies about 2 months ago. It is fully charged now. I tried that on just the one door and it didnt work. Maybe I need to do all doors? Sunroof and all other windows are acting as expected.

I had this issue once out of nowhere on my IS years ago, well after the battery had been replaced. Someone here told me to disconnect the battery, wait 10 minutes, then reconnect. I did that, reset each window, then everything magically worked. Was very odd and never happened again. Only downside is programming all your radio presets again. Maybe not the same resolution for you, but worth a shot.

^ I was thinking about this last night as I think a "hard reset" will probably be the only solution. Like you, this problem just popped up. I rolled my windows down then couldn't get the driver side rear one back up. I will have to disconnect the battery.

A hard reset of the battery worked and now all my windows work again

Glad to hear that it's fixed, and hopefully the electronic goblins that created the issue never come back

Hopefully. It happened on the first warm day after the car came out of the body shop. I am hoping it is done acting up now
