Is there a setting i can turn off, so the steering wheel won't extend and retract every time I turn on and off the car? i can't find it in the vehicle settings.
thanks.
Joe
I see that this subject is 8 years old basically but I'm wondering if you ever did find a solution to turning off that steering wheel? I don't have a need to do that but when I first got my GX which is a 2020 year I did want to turn it off because I wanted to put on one of those anti-theft devices that connects the steering wheel down to the break and when it went up it was too far apart to use that device. I have since found one that goes from the steering wheel and clicks into your seat belt lock. That works very well so it doesn't matter that the steering wheel goes up. But I still am curious I have learned from reading this Thread and am now aware that the dealership can probably turn off such things. Because they can turn off that darn seat belt chime if you don't worry seat belt. They can turn off the drivers by itself they can turn off the passenger by itself or turn them both off. So it is good alert to learn that the dealership can do such things. I have not checked to see if they can do that with the steering wheel but it sounds like they could and the one person here mentioned that you just have to pull a fuse so all these ideas are good to know whether I want to do those things or not. Thanks to all of you

******* could you tell me where you got that seat belt clip for $8? I tried to buy one from a junk car salvage yard but they wanted like $80 just to cut one out and use it for such purposes. I wanted to use one because when I'm driving around the 55 plus communities and you're only doing 10 miles per hour I don't see a need for seat belt it's just an aggravating step to do so I wanted to click one into the seatbelt but like I said the darn junk yards wanted 80 dollars for a little piece of metal and I wasn't going to do that. So if I can find one for $8 I would appreciate where that is available from. I have since learned and have the had the dealership turn off the seatbelt chime if you don't want to wear your seatbelt but there is other reasons for wanting and needing that seat belt clip such as the steering wheel retraction Etc. Thanks for your help
