Default tilt away steering wheel

Regarding the easy entry/exit feature where the seat and steering wheel move away for you to easily exit and enter the vehicle, can someone confirm if the steering wheel tilts away regardless of whether or not not you confirm the setting to Full, Partial, or Off? I currently have it set to Off but the steering wheel is still tilting away when we turn off the engine and I'd assume that by selecting Off, the feature is turned "Off." Does Off only refer to the seat not moving but the steering wheel moves regardless of the setting?

Correct. The tilt-away steering wheel cannot be controlled from the Nav screen. It can only be disabled by dealer equipment.

Would by any chance have a link or information to the settings that I can ask the dealer to set?

I am amazed how many cars do NOT have this feature...I consider it mandatory, and have found that many other makers do NOT offer this feature, at least in the RX price range....or slightly under.

I noticed this also, that a lot of luxury cars at the same price range or higher than the RX, don't have this feature. I also consider this to be something a luxury vehicle should really have as a standard feature. Fortunately, pretty much all the Lexus vehicles, starting with the IS line, if you get the luxury package on that one, have this feature. The Cadillac SRX, even with all the features that it has, does not have a power tilt/telescoping steering wheel. Most of the Infiniti models do have this feature. It does give you that luxurious feel when the steering wheel moves up and down automatically.

This post is so timely as I was going to ask a similar question: What other brands do offer this feature? My wife is interested in something different than the RX she has had the 7 years so I want to show her a range of competitors such as GLK, XC60, Q5, X3, SRX, ??

But I don't know who, if anyone, offers it and it is a VERY nice premium feature.

I know my 2012 BMW X5 has it.
X3, GLK are much smaller in size compared to the RX.
Also consider the depriciation factor on these and the dealership service as well.
BMW and Lexus SUV's are in good demand and hold their value pretty good.
Good Luck.
Thank You.

The X3 and GLK may be smaller in size but the X5 is much larger in price than an RX. For us, it is the price point that matters.

John, I believe the Mercedes GLK offers the power tilt steering wheel in one of their packages; I don't believe the XC60 does either(not totally sure on that one), and I don't believe the Q5 does either, unless it's possibly offered on the top tier package. I know for a fact that the SRX does not have it, surprisingly, since that vehicle offers just about everything else. Even a Nissan Murano has it if you get the LE model or the premium package on the SL model.

I cannot find it on the GLK when I build it online. My wife is interested in the look of the GLK so I suspect we will check it out when the refresh hits along with the MCR for the RX.

I had a related question on this function. Is there any way to have only the seat belt connection trigger the seat and steering wheel movement to the driving position? In the morning, I usually start the car and leave it warm up for a few minutes, but since starting the car moves them to the driving position, the exit and subsequent entrance are then done with the seat up and the wheel back.
