Default iPhone Bluetooth Call Echo

I have a 2015 F-sport with ML and iPhone 6 on iOS 10.3.3. I have received many complaints that when I pair my iPhone (even when using older iOS) to my 4GS, they hear an echo on the other line. Does anyone know why this happens? Also, is it better to use the mute on the iPhone or the mute button on the 4GS screen? I generally use my iPhone for conference call purposes.

I had this problem with my samsung S6. I unpaired my phone and then did a factory reset and repaired it and everyone said the echo was gone. Have you tried that (everyone hates doing factory reset but it might be a bluetooth software problem on your phone)?

It shouldn't matter which mute button you use. I use the one on the 4GS screen so that i don't have to pick up/look at my phone to mute. I just leave remote touch highlighted on MUTE button on the screen) and then press the remote touch button when I need to speak.

I'm having the same issues. I have an iPhone X, driving a 2015 f sport. People are complaining that i sound "robotic" and that it sounds like i'm speaking into a fan. I'm going to bring up this issue the next time I take my car in for service.

unpair the phone from the car and unpair the car from the phone, then re connect them back up. That's what they will do in service. It usually fixes the problem

The 2018 Camry has had the same issue for early manufactured models, where the receiving person hears severe echo. Toyota is fixing this issue by replacing the head-unit.

I unpaired my iPhone from my car and re-paired it. I've made numerous calls and no one has complained about the quality. Hopefully, this issue is resolved. At least I know what to do when it comes back. Thanks everyone.

Try going into the Car BT menu and cut down your Mic volume. Echo is normally the mic volume too high.

I’m having this same issue and I’ve tried in-pairing my phone from the car and removing the Bluetooth car setting from my phone and it didn’t help. I have a 2016 RX 350 FX and an iPhone 12 Pro. I’m hoping to find a resolution.
