I have an iphone 5 with ios 6.1.2. I usually (but not always) receive text messages on screen. The reply function doesn't every function. Anything I can do to enable this?

Buy a different phone. The reply function does not work with the iPhone.
Yeah, IOS won't allow it. In the 2 weeks that I owned the HTC One...it was possible to do anything...reply, send pre-saved responses, read emails, etc....
Hated that phone though, so back to the iPhone I went. Ultimately, my car is the place that I can get away from everything, so the last thing I want to do is read/respond/look at texts or emails.
I think the iPhone is becoming a joke. Sorry, but I think the one is a better device. iPhone has poor battery life, behind on features, and Apple is milking it.

Apple has a request page. What is missing from the iphone?
NFC, bigger screen, battery life, a better antenna design, an OS that is actually updated and runs without killing the battery, and a company that's arrogance doesn't precede it at every opportunity.
I'm an iPhone user, I like the iPhone for the reason I like all Apple products: because its simple, and it works. I've tried Android, too complicated and too temperamental. Would I like it if I could reply to texts in the car? Probably...but its not worth the learning curve for me.

Seriously? Have you ever used an iPhone? I am a developer for both. Antenna works the same, screen quality is much better on iPhone and the battery life isnt even comparable. My iPhone lasts 1-2 days. Most androids with light use barely last 8 hours. Use both, then comment.
I will agree, iOS needs an update bad, getting stale. However, way better than the buggy/unstable android system.

I also develop sw for both. Well, my partner actually does the coding. I use winows computers but prefer the iphone. The android tablets are not competitive, in my opinion.

Have you tried Windows phone? I havent taken that plunge yet.
