Just because it's 2014+ doesn't automatically mean it's power folding. I came across this before back when I was looking for the mirrors.

My stock ones had 14 wires with BSM and it was not power folding. The power folding mirror has 16 wires, the two ones that are missing are for the motor. Can he send you pics of the wires going into the plug?

My guess is he doesn't know what he's taking about or what he has.

Search car-carts.com and buy this off a wrecked car. That site searches all the junkyards in the USA.

Not to thread jack and this will be my only post in here regarding it, but any way to search Car-parts for just the mirror housing? My passenger side housing in some freak event apparently has melted on top like the sun was glaring offa glass building on it for a while or something.

You can buy the painted oem mirror covers from Japan:

http://jp-carparts.com/lexus/partlis...ype=3&fig=8701

Scroll down the page the driver side covers starts with part number: 8794A. The Passenger side starts with part number 8791A.

jp-carparts.com has them for about $54 each also another site I use to order from Japan has about the same price: www.amayama.com

They are made to order. I bought these to replace my original liquid platinum side mirror covers and the color was a perfect match.

it would be a cool feature, but I almost never have to fold my side mirror. Would defiantly take do the mod if someone else figured it out.

If it is the upper outer painted cover, it is easy. I ordered from Lexus dealer for about $84 already prepainted. The mirror glass can be popped out then couple screws holding the housing can be removed.

I had a deep scratch so decided to replace.

Not too bad. Mirror pops out, then you remove a bunch of screws behind mirror, top cover comes apart, remove gasket at base of mirror. Remove screws from base of mirror. Then you have to split the mirror plug into two pieces to pass it through the base. If you look at the plug it’s two pieces clipped together.

Default Wire Harnesses

Where do all the harnesses of both mirrors actually connect too? Are both the drivers and passenger sides connected to some shared component or separate components on each side.

it connects to an ecu in the door. One in each door but the ECU’s also communicate with each other.

My 2012 has power folding mirrors. It depends on country spec.

The auto folding mirrors didn't come to North America until model year 2014.
