Hey guys..I need your help.
I have a 2013 GS350 and need to change the battery.
I have ready other post but it is not clear to me.
I already unhooked the battery but there seems to be wires clipped to the positive side of the terminal.
I read it was difficult to take off but my question is do you have to do something special to take off the wires.
Or use brute force to remove the wire on the side of the battery cover.
The other night, my car was honking and flashing faintly like the alarm was going off.
I could not start the engine so I assume I need a new battery and it will fix it.
hence, I need to know how to take off those wires from the batter cover.
I literally struggled with this exact issue about a week and a half ago. I barely managed to get the new battery to fit with the plastic battery cover. I left it like that for now but that battery cover is bend out of shape and now cracked. I wasn't sure if I needed to keep it as it was attached the the cables. If it's not needed I will remove it.
Sorry I can't be any help but can offer a suggestion. I let the dealer install my battery (Interstate battery with Lexus logo on it) because they inspect the charging and electrical system with the installation. They also check the computer for electrical related codes that you may have on your car. For a few dollars more, I will let Lexus do it and if there are any problems resulting from the installation they will take care of it.

i would take it if I could. However, the car will not start but only make that low sounding alarm like flashing lights and sound. So I figured I should change the battery and see if that fixes it. If not then I'm going to have to tow it in. If that is the case, I would need to wait until the weekends when I have more time.
I haven't changed the battery in my GS yet, but if it's anything like the IS I had before, I either pried or cut those plastic clips off. I remember them being a PITA to deal with. After I changed the battery, I ditched the plastic surround since it wouldn't fit the new battery I installed.

Any chance of someone giving you a jump-start to get it going so you could at least drive it to your dealer?
Thank so guys for all the reply. Was able to get it off. I'd say do it in the day. Could not see when I tried to do it at night with lights.
Car is running fine. Battery has to be replaced.
