My GS ('13) is set to have the side view mirrors tilt when the car is put in reverse. I've had a number of vehicles that do this, but they all have tilted the mirrors down, not up. Mine tilt up, and I don't find that very useful. When tilting down, it enables you to see parking lines, etc. Tilting up doesn't seem to help me in backing up at all.

Can our mirrors be set to tilt down instead of up?

Yes, if I remember correctly, put your car in reverse and adjust your mirror to what you want to see. Next time you go in reverse it goes to that position (did I remember that right?)
