Default Same transmission

Anyone know if the 200t and 350 transmission is the same?

I realize they are both 8 speeds, but are they interchangeable?

The 8 speed in the 200t and the RWD 350 are both the AA81E transmission, but I can't say there are no differences in mounting and what not that would prevent them from being interchangeable. Someone else would need to chime in on that.

if the same tranny then yes, interchangeable... i would say make sure to use original torque converter, they might be different due to the size of engine.

If the engine size is different, shouldn't the tranny case would also be different size????

Quick check shows that both the GS200t and GS350 RWD have the same ratios for all speeds.
A couple variations however in weight, the 200t's 95.4 kg or 210.3 lb, the 350's 93.6 kg or 206.4 lbs.
An interesting difference in fluid capacity as well, the 200t's 8.7L or 9.2 qt., the 350's 9.5L or 10.0 qt.

Not necessary... IS350 & GS350 share the same tranny, many other components as well.

That is so bizarre as far as weight and fluid capacity goes. I'm not a mechanic, so I'm curious if turbos call for anything different. But then again you mention the ratios are the same...

Yeah, it's because they both are 3.5 liter engine???

We're talking about inline 4 cylinder 2.0T vs 3.5 engine initially.

I could be wrong though.
