Default 2016 GS Navigation

Is the NAV in the current GS still the old generation as opposed to the new RX NAV? It looks like nothing changed much from my 06 SC NAV. I've been toying with the idea of selling my 2012 X3 and getting a 2016 GS. It just seems to have old technology and that is stopping me from doing so.

The 2016 GS has the same new updated Nav like the RX.

The head unit and software is upgraded on the 16"s.

It's really the same general setup as the SC430, but that shouldn't keep you from getting the GS. just think about not having to worry about maintenance on the X3, and all the little things that break

To me, there's a night and day difference between the 06 SC nav and the 16 GS nav. You're talking about a Generation 4 compared to a Generation 9. It's much faster, more intuitive and has a lot more voice commands. And obviously a much larger screen.

The maps looked identical. In 40k miles, I've only had 1 problem with the X3 that was fixed under warranty and it was a $1k fix and had something to do with the electronic gear shift.

The map layouts are clearly from the same manufacturer, much like how Apple's OS looks similar to how it's always looked, but the functionality and the menus, transitions and speed, feature content is much, much better.

I have a 2016 RX loaner right now, it's a big improvement over my 2015 nav, let alone 2006.
