Hi,
I've had my 2013 GS350 for less than a week , but one thing I've noticed (compared to Acura) is that when I first start the car, the idle seems very high. This lasts for 5-10 mins, then seems to come down and becomes much quieter. Has anyone else noticed that? Is that by design to get the engine warmed up sooner? It seems overall the idle is a bit higher and louder than I'm used to.
Not a big deal, just curious as to others opinions and observations.
Other than that minor issue, I really love this car!!!
No more Acuras for me. I bought two new TL's over the last 10 years. They were adequate, but Lexus is superior in most every way.
Yes, it is normal. When the exterior temp is below 50 degrees F, the vehicle will idle around 1000rpms until the engine heats up. You're only going to notice this at stop lights.
I definitely noticed the difference coming from a WRX. I was able to time exactly when the WRX would kick back down, its hard to do that in the Lexus for some reason.
I have a 2013 GS350, new to me. When I start the car up it seems to have a high idle around 1500-1600rpm. Is this normal, when I get to my destination it idles around 900 rpm.
Every car I've ever owned has done this when started cold. My first car was an RX7, carburetor with a choke **** you had to pull out. Now that thing would rev in the winter. As the engine warmed up it'd slowly suck the choke **** back into the dash.

I'm surprised no one asked this, but what's your definition of "very high"?
