Hi Everyone. Until yesterday when I downloaded the 9.0 software update for my iphone 6+, I received text messages that were read to me if driving and also my office email that was read to me unless I clicked IGNORED. I discovered I lost both. I redid the Bluetooth Connection and made sure I clicked notifications, etc. I now have text messages back but nothing has restored my email. Lexus Helpdesk is no help. They say my car-2013 GS cannot read email. Well, mine does. Can anyone assit me as I have been a member of this forum since 2012.

 

iPhone does not support email through bluetooth. This is not a Lexus issue. Apple has never enabled it.

Only way I could think is your previous version of iOS was jailbroken.

 

My IPhone 6 has always received text messages through the screen on my 2015 GS350. It is not jailbroken, whatever that is. On the other hand, I have upgraded to 9.0 and it still works.

 

But not emails as JAM mentions. Mine does text as well.

 

Everyone is right. Lexus said that somehow I had found a loophole in previous versions of Apple and had my office email delivered. Jailbroken somehow. The new version wiped out my loophole. LOL. Now I only receive text messages. Lexus does have hardware installed that does read email. Apple will not allow. I hope Siri Headsup will help me when I get the 2016 GS. I may have to go to another platform for my smartphone.

 

Lesson of the day... If your phone has been jailbroken, never update iOS. I hope your phone is still unlocked.

 

Yeah, I misread that. Emails? I would be interested in how that Nigerian Prince that is so interested in my becoming a gazzillionaire sounds over the audio system, but I get far too many emails to ever want that as a feature.

 

Couldn't agree more. The car is the one place I can't/don't check email. More than happy to keep it that way. The car would never stop talking to me if it got emails.
