On your phone, go to settings --> Bluetooth --> turn on Bluetooth --> Lexus GS should show up on My Devices --> select the blue (i) icon next to it --> turn on Show Notifications
Unfortunately Apple doesn't allow you to respond, unless you use Siri. Android is able to select from a list of canned responses.
