Default Foglights On Randomly

My neighbor stopped me to talk about cars, then he stopped me and said that when he comes in at night he can see my fog lights turned on. He thought I was in the car, so my question to mostly f-sport owners if they have noticed there fog lights once Installed, if they are on. My thought is that this is the ghost power that is being pulled and if I can pinpoint it I think I may be able to solve the battery problem where it dies after a week.

Either your neighbor smokes somethings, or He prob got home right after you locked your car. Press the lock button once and your headlight stays on, and twice and it turns off. Check your light settings.

your dead battery problems started after you installed the fogs? You might be on to something but the other GS owners with the same problem didn't have fogs installed.

No they happened before the fog light install so I'm guessing it's catching a current somewhere. Forgot to say I have seen it before, I walked out and thought someone broke into my car so had my bat in one hand and when I got to the garage there was nothing broken or open. I hope I found the problem and they can find exactly where the current is pulling from.

So I spoke to the guys that installed the fog lights and he said they tapped into the parking lights. Its interesting because the DRL's are not on neither are the headlights just the fog lights.

I am assuming the installer attached a relay inline with the parking lights. This allows the fogs to be only when the parking lights are on. I would check this relay. It might be getting triggered a short or just a bad relay. Seems kind of odd though.

Sorry had to edit. Meant to say relay is inline with parking lights. When parking lights get power, the relay is triggered, allowing the circuit to complete, providing power to the fogs. Generally, it is wired inline to the headlights as fogs shouldn't be on unless the headlights are on. It's illegal in certain states.

So it shouldn't be inline with the parking lights, so if there is power going to the parking lights when the car is off, which should be the only way it is getting power it could be a faulty relay. What if the relay is not the problem any suggestions on what else it could be as if its not the relay. They are like that because that's the way I stated it to be so I can turn the fog lights on without the headlights.

Something is triggering the relay if the relay is not at fault. That's the mysterious part. It's hard to say without doing a but of tests.

When I put fogs in my Camry, OEM, I wired the relay to the headlights. This way they shut off with the headlights. Wiring it to the parking lights is correct for what you want it to do though. Just need to find out what is triggering the fogs.
