Finally got my permenant plates from the BMV today, and when I went to put them on it seems the dealer used black nylon screws to put the temp tag on the car. No biggie, right? Wrong. They must have over tightened them, the heads came off of BOTH just by attempting to unscrew them. Ugh.
I was able to get one out with some vice grips, turning it out. The other Didnt have enough material above the surface to turn out, so I had to take a 6mm bit and drill it out, then clean the plastic out of the threads with a tap. Use metal screws please, for the love of god this isn't a damn Kia.
My car came with pretty nice stainless steel screws installed for the licence plate. I've never heard of anyone using nylon screws. That's pretty cheap.
