Question What Makes You a GS Driver?

So what's the common theme here that made us all go for/consider the 2013 GS?

In other words, what part of your personality made you choose the GS and now that you have it how's the fit and has it met all your expectations? If not where has it fallen short?

Wanted something sporty but not so harsh it sucks for daily driving. Needed to have excellent reliability and high build quality. I'm picky about materials used on interiors, i cant stand creaky cheap plastic. GS F-Sport AWD fit the bill perfectly for my requirements.

As an example:

I'm a perfectionist (at least try hard to be), detail oriented, fastidious, moderately conservative (not referring to political) and a no nonsense person.

We chose the GS for its reputation which takes care of the perfectionist, deatil oriented part, Lexus' immaculate assembly and attention to detail process which addressed the clean freak in me and being so highly rated in CSI the no nonsense part of me would have less crap to deal with. The GS is also not too showy but has some very strong design elements and is a good car for business, which satisfies the moderatey conservative part of me/my wife.

well, the 3gs never really got my attention at all bc it had no sport package.

i'm 28, and wanted a mid-size luxury sedan, looks good, and is sporty (f-sport).

Combination of power, speed, luxury and comfort. LS too big, IS too small, GS just right.

My personality traits are that I like to have fun but I'm practical at the same time. The GS F Sport is a fun car to drive, with decent power, great handling and a great sound when you put your foot in it. Even with all that, I know it is going to be reliable in the long run.

The part of me that has worked hard to enjoy the finer things in life appreciates the quality, materials and design of the interior and the way the Cabernet, black and aluminum all work together to please my senses everytime I enter the car. I also enjoy the attention from the Lexus staff when I take the car in for service because, again, I've worked hard to earn that level of service.

Very well said...your first sentence especially says it quite well and the rest of your post is also spot on.

The purpose of the thead is to see what we all have in common about us that drew us to a paticular model the 4GS...I doubt Lexus' marketing dept would agree with your assesment that their customer's just own one and that's the end of the story. I'd also venture to say there's some pretty interesting data on who makes up a new GS driver well beyond financial.

It's an inetresting topic to some here and if it's not to you please just move on to a different one.

Good day...
It is an interesting topic, and our company uses the "personality" angle in our marketing research. People identify with a car and it reflects their personality. No one spends $60k on a car without some type of personal connection. Apparently, not everyone realizes that. Just ignore them and keep moving forward.

Now that we've owned the GS for about a week the size difference between it and her former IS has become quite apparent. I was always concerned about safety in the IS being to small, as she has an 80 mile per day commute, but the size of the GS as you state is not too big or too small is truly just right.

I also think the cost, for the content is very favorable.

The thanks go to you. We need interesting, broad-based topics other than "what drop should it get" to keep the forum going.

Owning a GS or a Lexus in general is not juz owning the car, it feels like u r ownig the whole culture of Lexus. The New GS has greatly improve in terms of looks, & technology. Lexus is like Rolls Royce of Japan

+1 I agree, Lexus is the technology of Japan and most of are cars are known for that. Lexus made a car to compete with the Germans and look at them now, they are the standard for what the Germans want to beat. The thing that drove me to want a 13' GS was the interior I say it every time because coming from a 3GS the difference is truly night and day.

I am picky, agressive, perfectionist and demanding. Which is why I got the GS F-Sport because it does everything well and gives me the best ride, handling, quality, etc for the price. I cannot accept anything less than this.
