It'll go on easier, but will still require a good degree of force. After you remove it, you won't have any issue whatsoever pushing it back on. You are being overly concerned about something [now] that once you accomplish doing it, you'll look back and see how it was nothing to worry about.

Just did this mod thanks to everyone's tips and pictures. Took about 20 mins a side, but I was taking my time and being super careful along the way.
Yes, it takes a hell of a lot of force to pop off the mirrors. I realized the mirror is bulletproof, so don't be afraid that you might break it, because you can't.
End result is 10x better in terms of looks. Best of luck to those that are contemplating this mod, do it.
Did this light change. if this hasnt been stated before heres some tips. On the side of the mirror there are little indents where the tabs are to put your finger in to take off the clip. For putting the mirror back on, center the white base and center the mirror on top of it. Find the indents again on the top and bottom of the mirror and press in all together at once with one hand on top and one hand on bottom.
Just did this mod and like everyone else said the mirrors are a pain to take off... almost felt like I was on the verge of breaking before it popped off lol. LED makes a world of difference and are incredibly brighter! love subtle upgrades like this
For those of you who know how much space is in the housing, do you think the led I picked up would fit? The led will fit the brake light so no big deal if it won't fit the puddle light housing, but obviously I need the bulb in hand when doing the conversion
Nobody? Oh well. I just ordered four different styles up to 34mm long. Will report which one is best in terms of light output. Longevity won't be an issue with then coming on fifteen seconds at a time. It's the constant on and temperature that burns these out

I think it won't fit because there is a white plastic shroud around the bulb and that won't accommodate a bulb that is any longer than the original W5W bulb.
The other one worth doing is your reverse lights(W16W), the whiter/brighter whites really help with backing up into dark spaces. It makes the backup camera much clearer.
Had some LEDs sitting in my trunk that I used on my previous car which ended up being the correct ones for the exterior mirror puddle lights so I went ahead and did the swap on my '18 GS F-Sport. I have a couple walkaround videos but I don't believe I can share those quite yet (new member restrictions). I'm ordering some high quality bulbs from VLEDs that I'll probably swap in upon arrival. In the meantime, here is a before and after photo. They're ever-so-slightly whiter in person and not as blue, but otherwise the color accuracy in the photos is pretty spot on.
Side note, everyone keeps mentioning the power folding mirrors being out of sync after completing the swap. I never noticed mine weren't in perfect sync until I began looking for it but the difference is very slight and most cars with power folding mirrors perform like this. The driver and passenger mirror housings are in slightly different positions because the driver seat is on one side of the car vs being centered in the car. Therefore, the mirrors have different distances to travel upon folding, hence the difference you're noticing. Your mirrors are not out-of-sync, you just never noticed before.
ok everyone, I got a few different bulbs, tested them all for brightness. The one on the far left is the best one, I installed these in my mirrors today. Easy project to be honest, I can help local people do this swap near rancho cucamonga. Its a rather simple DIY, nothing compared to this project from way back in the 3gs forum https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gs-...iy-thread.html

Could you share with us where you bought that far left bulb?
How would you describe the colour of that bulb, i.e. is it pure white similar to the instrument dials or does it have a bluish tint typical of most white LED bulbs found on ebay.
That 3rd bulb could fit...Its the length thats the concern...I myself wanted to put the Biggest/Brightest...However, the I bulb I end up with is Super Bright...
