Default Issues synching iPod on GS
Has anyone else had issues synching there iPod to their 4GS? i tried my 80 gb, i think its from 2006 and my brothers iPod touch from 2009. You think they are too old?

I haven't tried the update. How is that done? Just connect to itunes and search firmware update?

When you connect your iPod to your computer, it should auto launch iTunes. That should then automatically show you all available updates and prompt you to install them.

I just wanted to thank you guys for the help. Lexus told me the ipod was to old and wouldn't work. I took the advice of the forum and installed the latest updates, works like a charm in the car...thx!

that's great! firmware updates ftw - my 'new' ipod nano wasn't working with my macbook pro on synching to itunes but after a 'restore' update it works fine now! itunes never notified me that the ipod needed updated firmware.

i tried my second gen itouch w/software version 2.2.1 and although it says connected it does not show up on my car. I then tried my old ipod classic, 6th gen, w/software version 1.1.2 and it works. Of course my iphone 4gs works but since this is my workphone i cant leave it in my car. My regular phone is the Samsung Note. Had some problems with pandorra, called up support and they said i had to turn the wifi off for it to work. turned wifi off and oila, pandora started working. I dont see my emails though.
Voice commands dont work for ipod classic, it says it is registering the data and to try again later?
