4GS mega thread (UPDATED; preview drives, specs, more interior pics)
And I understand the LS460 Sport also has the same box as the IS F. Motortrend when they reviewed the LS460 Sport were very impressed with the lightning fast shifts and the down-shift rev-matching.
i can't say i am impressed with lexus fanbois trying to just twist every fact
No, I would prefer 8 or 9 inches, because that is the sweet spot. A 12 or 13 inch information screen would be too massive in a car and would just cause too much of a distraction for the driver IMO.

That screen in the Tesla is ugly and its a gimmick. Actually buttons, switches, ***** and dials are way more expensive and reliable than a disposable touch screen. You can get a 24" screen for about $200 these days.
I am attaching the chart Henry is referring to.
The shift speed of the ISF is 100ms. By comparison the Cambiocorsa in a Ferrari is about 300ms, and a SMG III is 65ms. SMG III though is not very smooth like the ISF and Ferrari shifts. SMG II was 85ms I think.
I also like the new ISF instrument cluster.

good article. yes, the up shift lag time on the isf is exactly what i experienced. and the down shift lag time (very short) is great on the isf. speed and smooth usually don't go hand in hand with each other anyway. the smoother it is, the slower it is (in general). get in the lfa sport mode and shift speed to fast and man, it hurts
btw, does it make sense that isf has auto tranny so it shifts faster (the shift time itself) than computer controlled manual tranny? lfa shift time is 200ms, kind of silly if all those work on lfa and it shifts slower than isf
