Default Prokeybox.com - anyone use for fob/programming

I need another key for my GS and have been poking around with local locksmiths and online companies. The best price that I have gotten locally is $230 for a locksmith to come out to my house and provide/program another key. This doesn't seem terrible but I stumbled across Pro Key Box online. They send you a fob and a programmer for $139.95. This seems like a deal but I cannot find a lot of reviews / feedback from anyone that has used them. Unfortunately I do not have a personal laptop so going the Techstream route would be a challenge...

Anyone have any experience with Pro Key Box?

prokeybox.com

Thanks!

I just ordered the kit so I'll let everyone know how it goes in 1-5 business days. I chose the 2 key fobs plus programmer for $179.95. Still cheaper than the locksmith who quoted $250 for a single aftermarket key fob.

Day 1 of programming 2 new key fobs didn't go well. Followed their instructions multiple times and each attempt results in an error message saying "communication breakdown" on the final step. Working with tech support now to troubleshoot the issue. Will report back if they figure out a fix or if I end up requesting a refund. The car seems to recognize the programming module and goes into the key pairing mode as you progress through the steps but on the final stage where the car should be sending a signal for the new key fob to accept it simply errors out.

Interesting... Keep us posted on the progress. Curious to how helpful their tech support department is...?

They asked me to take pictures of the internal board of my Lexus fob and the packaging for the two replacement fobs they sent. Apparently, they sent me the wrong fobs even though the shape and size matches the original. They shipped out two more fobs and had me mail back the others. I should be receiving delivery of the replacements by the end of the week to try again. They were responding all weekend so at least from a support perspective they're helpful.

Received the replacement key fobs yesterday and was able to program both of them in about 2 minutes. The correct key fobs were labeled HYQ14FBA 281451-0020 G. So final verdict, Prokeybox.com is legit and I was able to program 2 new keys for about $180. Now just need to get the emergency key blade cut.

Great to know! I will give it a shot. What is the quality of the fobs and did you have an option for what key fobs to order to begin with or did they select the wrong ones?

The fobs are decent quality. They don't have the textured look on the outside or the Lexus emblem like OEM. I used their car search tool to order the programmer and fobs so my guess is someone packaged the wrong fobs because they have very similar part numbers. The only thing I would change is I ordered the two pack of fobs because I didn't realize you could just order the programmer box and one fob for about $40 less. When I google searched that was the first result that popped up and it was such a good price compared to other key services I went and ordered it.

I used this thread to give me confidence in purchasing keyfobs and programming tool from them as well. The keys were not for my Lexus but for my in laws town and country minivan. I must say I was really pleasantly surprised that the programmer worked perfect and the price was good. I also emailed them a couple of questions before I ordered and they were prompt to reply. I would use them again for sure!
