Dashboard/windshield creaking
Hey everyone,
So I'm hearing a creaking sound at slow speed over bumps in the corner where the passenger side dashboard and A pillar meet - closer to the windshield. I took it into the dealer and they said that when they press on the windshield, the noise goes away. The windshield is aftermarket so that seemed like a logical culprit. So I stopped by an auto glass shop to see if I should have the windshield replaced to get rid of the creaking, but after inspecting it, he said that the windshield was mounted correctly and there were no issues with it. Although, it's a cheaper aftermarket windshield, he didn't see any problems with the epoxy holding it in and all the moldings were installed properly as well. The sound is definitely coming from inside the car. Also noticed it's much worse when it's cold out. Wondering if anyone has any thoughts on this?

The aftermarket glass may not be sitting perfectly, may not be of the right thickness compared to OEM or it may need something simple to help create a tighter seal. Try putting some foam/felt in between the dash/glass to see if it helps with any creaking.
If that doesn't work and you don't trust your Lexus dealer, take it to a local shop and see if they can test drive the car and give you their opinion but any removal or reseating of the glass will likely be pricey. Here are some additional helpful threads:

@Leederosa keep us posted on the progress of this! I believe I might be running into the same issue.
