Can someone explain what the parking button on the center console next to the rear sunshade button does? i was under the impression it would activate sensors when parking but have found that nothing happens whether i have it on or off.

Look in your car's 'Navigation Manual' for information on the Intuitive Parking Assist settings (e.g. volume, sensor distance, etc.)
My screens do not display any info when parking with IPA button activated, not sure if it doesn't work or possibly not equipped? I have searched through the menu and manual and everything...

Not all Lexus 4GS units were ordered by Lexus dealers with the IPA option. Usually Intuitive Parking Assist was ordered along with the Blind Spot Monitoring option. Do you have BSM?
What package is your 4GS? Some bare-bone Base 4GS models with virtually no optional features and a small 8" NAV were ordered by a few dealers, but most 4GS models were the Premium model with some optional features, or the F-Sport model or Luxury model packages.
I have an F Sport, it has BSM, HUD, ML, Power Trunk and full nav. I'm convinced for some reason it just may not work. Could be a fuse or somethin perhaps?

Do you even have IPA enabled? Maybe the button in the console is disabled.

I do see the green light , however upon parking, the display on the cluster, nor the 12" screen show the parking assist and there's no beeping noise.
You should see the parking sensors on the information display, but ONLY as you closely approach an object (e.g. car, wall, etc.).
You won't see the sensors on the information display while parking unless you get close enough for the sensor sensitivity to alert you.
Have you gone into your 'Vehicle Settings' to see if the IPA display is even turned On? Have you set the sensor distance sensitivity? Have you set the sensor alert volume? If not, why not?

@Thai435 - Here's an image of my car's IPA sensors actively alerting me this morning as shown on the multi-information display and the loud beeping that I heard.
It's a bit difficult to see in the image below (it was taken in a dark cabin) but:
• Note the orange bar at the front bumper (a.k.a. front center) is indicting the front of the car is close (<3 ft) to something directly in front of it.
• Note the left front corner sensor was indicating it was close to something whereas the right front corner sensor was indicating it too was close to something, but not quite as close as the left corner.
• Note that the car was in Drive.
PS - The rear sensor is very valuable - because when the car is in Reverse it can detect an approaching vehicle coming from the side behind you, which alerts you to not back up until it passes by...Most parking lot vehicle accidents involve one of the vehicles backing up in reverse gear - so the use of the IPA rear sensors set at a significant distance setting can really be a very valuable protection.
