Front rotors Problem
Hello everyone , i am curious if anyone else is having the same problem, My 09 gs350 eats through front break rotors every10k .I went with premium akebono rotors and pads , Not even 15k later and the rotors are warped. Car shakes like crazy when breaking . Does anyone else experience this ? any help or suggestions appreciated I know water and heat can do this or riding the breaks but i feel like am being careful. car has 56k
I wouldnt say eat the rotors, because your issue is warping rotors. Whatever you are doing you are warping the rotors. Steel warps when it gets very hot and cools pretty fast. Ever notice when you hit a pothole that has water in it, and steam rises from the wheel. Stuff like that can cause warping, or washing a car right after driving it. Many times if you leave the rotors warped, with heat cycles they become straight again. For instance a car on a race track with the constant braking, heating up the rotors and eventually returns true.
You can also remove the rotors and take them to a machine shop that has a lathe or brake shop and have them cut them true. But I wouldnt throw away newish rotors just because there warped.

Have you checked to make sure your front brake calipers aren't dragging? are your front wheels hot to the touch after a normal drive? Or do you do a lot of downhill driving where you have to brake a lot, or ride the brakes while you're driving? 10k seems too soon for rotors to be consistently going bad.
I agree with the above post. My IS350 had seized pistons on the all of the calipers. I rebuilt the front and purchased new calipers for the rear. Fixed the issue. Symptoms prior was excessive brake dust and that you could feel the brakes dragging.
I already had my rear calipers, rotors, and pads replaced and they look great but my braking is still inconsistent and my car’s steering is also slightly inconsistent.
I ordered the caliper rebuild kit from Rock Auto. I'll see if I can find the part #.
I also have a bootleg Tech stream program. This allows you to properly bleed the braking system. You may have air in your system still. How did you bleed your brakes?

I had the job done by my local shop to save time so I’m not sure. I’ve access to the software as well so I’ll try that first before going for the rebuild.
ok cool. Since you went with top of the line parts, braking should be smooth as butter. My bet is that there is air in the system, and/or a leaking seal(s).
Inspect to see if there is any brake fluid leaking out around the brake cylinders.
This is the kit that I used: https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...t=1720&jsn=812
