Hi everyone i need some advice im getting error code P0985 shift solenoid E control c
What model and year? The 2006 GS300 US spec, has issues with both the pcm and solenoids that go bad. I would take the car to a good mechanic with a good scan tool and have him click test each solenoid. You should be able to hear the solenoid and engage. If it doesnt I would start by removing that solenoid and replacing it with oem replacement.

Ive wasted 500 at a electrician that ended telling me the same thing as my 15 dollar bluetooth diagnostic off ebay lol 😆 i haven't changed the fluid yet im thinking about sending my pcm out to have it checked before i go to the tranny specialist
You need to find a good technician thats not out to eat. A good scan tool can ping test/trigger each solenoid while the car is not running. You guys should be able to hear the solenoids click over. If it doesnt click, that means it could be a bad solenoid or wiring to it. It could also mean that the solenoid is gummed up as the cars transmission fluid is over 17 years old.
What you can do is drain the transmission fluid, remove the pan, and with the help of a diagram locate that solenoid. remove that solenoid and clean the ports with parts cleaner. You can also bench test the solenoid out of the car. If you tap 12 volts to it, it should move the plunger inside. You can also force air into the solenoid with your mouth to make sure that with voltage that plunger closes or opens. If you put voltage to it and it does nothing then its a bad solenoid. Then you can clean the magnets in the pan, install a new filter and pour in fresh WS toyota gear fluid. I would go this route before sending off the ecu to get checked.

I just searched for that engine code, it shows that the signal to the solenoid is shorted out.
Thats interesting! As we do not see that often. You may have wiring issue to that solenoid or pcm. Have you tried raising up the car and going through all the plugs to the transmission? I would unplug and inspect or maybe clean each plug, and look through the wiring harness, its possible something nicked a wire or a rodent chewed through. Jack it up and crawl under it, and see!
Its plausible that the pcm may have had a soldier joint come loose. As a last resort you can ship the ecu to SIA electronics and for $110 they will go through, inspect and repair the ecu. They usually have a fast turn around time, and they are most members use so they are knowledgeable in the lexus ecu's

Have you checked your local dealer? Or if you have a local toyota/lexus parts supplier? Theres ebay, a seller from uae offers great prices on oem stuff. You just need to get the part number from your dealer or else where.
