Unresponsive touchscreen buttons

Unresponsive touchscreen buttons
The button selections on my factory in-dash touchscreen are unresponsive (climate control, audio, etc.) when pressed. The illuminated items on the touchscreen appear as they always have. Any advice?
Common issue on these 3gs after time the digitizer ribbon wire break. You can send off the whole unit to a repair shop and they charge $300 and up
Or like what I did, fix it yourself and save a bunch of money. I repaired mine in less then an hour! I purchased a $30 digitizer from aliexpress, and so far 1-2 years of use and its been great. There are many poor quality digitizers on ebay and else where. The cheap units will give you a rainbow screen. Thankfully mine was close to factory, just a little clouder only in direct sunlight. Other then that it performs just like oem
