Default GS300 3rd Gen electrical issues and P/S/ABS lights on

Hi, I recently bought a mk3 GS300 with issues but am at a loss in trying to repair it. I’ve been informed that the car was unused for 9 months over lockdown in which time the car battery died completely. It was then jump started from a jump pack which took a while to fire up. Since that time the red P/S light is on, the abs light, the tyre monitor light, a bulb warning light at the tail, the climate isn’t working, it says check the connection of the air conditioner. Also the drivers drop down panel isn’t working so no mirrors, no fuel cap and everything else is dead on the panel. The central locking has stopped working on the fob also. The guy I bought it from said everything was fine before the lockdown. I’ve put a brand new battery in the car and in the fob, it starts perfectly and is charging. I’ve checked all the fuses and they’re all good. Is there a chance something in the écu is fried or has a solenoid failed? I’ve even checked all the connectors on the P/S rack and looked at the abs sensors but nothing to report, also there are no stored error codes!!. I’m completely at a loss so if any kind experienced person could shed any light on what it could be would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks

GS's do not like to sit not being driven. Lights do pop up, my suggestion is to just drive the car. You can also remove the battery terminals after driving it to help it reset. But usually that stuff goes away on its own.

Thanks for getting back to me, the annoying aspect is that the MOT has expired and the P/S and abs lights are a failure but will try and drive it if u can. Thanks again

Hi, @Coastliner have you found a solution? I'm experiencing exactly the same issue but car is my daily. Yesterday everything was ok, today bunch of lights on the dash out of nowhere.

Default Gs300 elec issues

No I didn’t, it’s still on my drive. I left the battery off for a few weeks and the lights have gone off, however it still drains a full battery in 24 hours.
I've a code B1266, it’s a vague code as it can refer to many things, I’ve tried a few fixes but it’s not fixed, still drains and lights come back in if left long enough.
depressing to say the least!
best of luck.

So in my case it is a water causing all the problems.
First time it happened few hours after a car wash but I didn't connect the dots, then it was gone and car was all good for few days till heavy rain came yesterday and car went crazy again.
I had a windscreen replaced recently and it seems like I have a leak somewhere as I've found driver side carpets wet when I've checked them after the rain.
There is a bunch of connections on the pillar next to the gas pedal and you can see what I have found there.
After cleaning the connections with electrical contact cleaner all the lights are gone and everything works as it should. Now I'm waiting for the insurance to sort the leak out.
I think its no.16 on diagram and whatever is right next to it, maybe it's a same thing in yours. Good luck!
