Lexus GS430 Navigation - Please Insert Correct Disc Error
Hi Everyone,
This is my first post.
I recently bought a 2006 GS430 with every option, 148,000 km (92,000 miles) and had been sitting in an underground storage unit for more than 12 months. Service History is perfect. Car is still like new. It is charcoal grey with black interior and rosewood trim. I flew to Sydney from Melbourne one-way just to buy it, as it was also cheaper than any GS300 3rd Gen in my city.
The GPS Sat Nav system is not working. It just says Please Insert Correct Disc. I have searched and read the forum posts on this issue. I have pressed the "hidden button" at the top right of the screen and ejected a v10.1 Genuine Whereis Toyota Nav CD from the glove-box mounted DVD Nav drive. I also have a latest version v26 Maps CD for Lexus.
From what I understand, I need to access the Navi ECU under the bonnet, remove it, open it, and remove the watch like memory battery to reset the unit. Is this correct?
I assume I then reinstall the Navi ECU and insert the original Navi Disc v10.1 when prompted. Is this correct?
I apologise if I am covering old ground, I just want to ensure I am doing the correct procedure.
Many Thanks
Ben
