Default 9.1 navigation disc override?

ive heard rumors that the 9.1 navi disc allows the override now, does anyone know if this claim is true? apparently someone on here with an rx did it but I cant find it.

9.1 in my 2006 GS430 (Gen 4 Nav.) does not allow override that I have found. The Menu, Volume, ... trick no longer worked after 5.1 IIRC. I am using the PS kit which worked on the older 4.2 disc as well as the current 9.1.

really? i would assume that trick would work on all 4th gen nav systems regardless of what disc you had.

Nope, that's why people started building the hybrid 5.1/6.1 etc. discs so they could get the latest map data but retain the firmware or operating code that allowed for override via the finger dance.

yeah it went bye bye with dvd v 5. I burned a v5/v6 combo that worked. same trick wouldn't work for v5/v7 so I got the PS kit.

I have the Gen 5 v9.1. I have tested with below instructions and didn't work. If there are different instruction I should follow let me know and I will try again. Cannot get to #6

1) Press Menu
2) Press Volume on the Nav screen
3) Press the "speaker" picture on the top left screen
4) Press the bottom left corner of the screen (it's blank, nothing there)
5) Repeat steps 3 & 4
6) A screen should now Appear w/ several functions
7) Find the "Override" button and hold until you hear a "beep"
8) The Override button letters should now be in black as the others are white
9) Press the Back button and you are ready to go!

The rumors that version 9.1 brought back the override seem to be wrong. I have not figured out how to override my 9.1 map. Has somebody else figured out an override sequence? Also, I attempted to build a hybrid DVD with the 5.1 loader and 9.1 map, but the finally DVD seemed unstable. Everything seemed to load properly, but the mapping did not work. I did not actually get errors, instead buttons did not do anything. Any ideas?

don't think there is any override sequence at all on 9.1
