My low oil engine light came on, I had it checked since I just got an Oil Change and still had 2000 miles before next oil change. I was told my Valve Covered Gaskets were leaking on both sides. After researching for a Certified Mechanic, I finally got them installed yesterday. Before they were installed my car never leaked any oil , never made any noise. I’m infuriated today because my car is now Ticking/Knocking. I called the Mechanic who said he couldn’t check it out until Monday😡😡😡 . I’m going crazy over here because:
1st off- he said it wasn’t leaking that bad and the Gaskets wasn’t bad-( so
why am I replacing them🤔
2nd: He didn’t change the oil or spark plugs.
Now, my car sound worse than before I took it. Please help. Did he screw up!?? Now, I’m feeling like he made it worse. I am attaching the Video. He told me to drive it around, oil need to get into valve👀👀 this doesn’t sound right Never had oil leak from my car . This morning it was leaking 😡😡😡

Wow. Sounds like a vacuum leak. The ticking noise is from the high-pressure fuel pump, which is normal but that pumping\knocking noise is not. Don't drive it. Have it towed back to him and let him fix it.

how long did you drive it with the low oil light on?

The low oil light never stayed it flash like 2 times. The oil level was Tapped off immediately and to be honest ? I honestly don’t think my Valve Gaskets was bad. Was no oil around the engine neither on the sparks plugs. The Mechanic said since it’s already apart it doesn’t hurt to replace them. I’m so angry right now.

Honestly it’s going back to him. But I really don’t trust him now. If you couldn’t do it right the first time🤔 now you need a second chance to mess something else up.
It definitely didn’t sound like that before he installed the valve gasket. It’s definitely something he did wrong. Is the Vacuum Leak near the valve gasket??? And how could this happen
Proper valve cover gasket job involves not only changing valve cover gasket, but all other gaskets found inside that are subject to wear. There are sets of them sold online for a quick purchase so the mechanic doesn’t have to do the job twice. Also, why didn’t he change oil and spark plugs? This is weird to exclude this unless you want to save money. Vacuum leak can originate from touching the old brittle rubber hose.
