Need help deciding
Hey I've recently been trying to purchase a lexus gs350 and have found 3 options all in my price range
2009 gs350 white with 110k mi beige interior for 6500
2007 gs450h dark grey with 65k mi black interior for 6000
the gs450 seems like it was kept in pristine condition but haven't looked into it yet
the gs350 is up to date serviced and maintained
whats a riskier buy/easier to maintain? im sure the gs450h, being such a early hybrid car, it has to have some complications.
currently id rather buy the 09 since its newer, but since they're both 10 yrs old the age difference is not a big deal plus the interior doesn't have any major changes from 07-09

I have an 09 GS350 w/95k miles that I purchased 1.5 yrs ago and paid a lot more than that for it. I couldn't be more happy with it. It's a great car. If I had your choices, personally, I would go with the GS350 for two reasons. One is the cost to replace the hybrid batteries is truly significant, almost as much as the cost of the car you are looking at, and it will need to be replaced at some point. Second, I personally have no use for CVT transmissions. I hate the way that drivetrain feels and I won't own a car that has one. Many members here rave about it, but it's not for me. I don't think you could go wrong with either one of those cars for the prices.

For the Hybrid, How handy are you with cars? Look up how to deal with dead batteries for Prius, it is very similar. If not can you spend another $2-$3K to have a pro do it? They are still pretty reliable though.
The GS350 is probably one of the most reliable cars on the road. No car is perfect, even Corollas have some issues, but statistically speaking it is in the top, especially for anything Luxury. It compares in reliability to a Lincoln Town Car. During the 00's those brands were #1 and #2 for reliability. It is also relatively easy to repair.

okay so the 07 gs450h is off the table
now i got a 118k mi es350 08 for 5000
or i can put 5000 down on the 7000 09 gs350 and pay the guy 2k over time
the gs is super clean i just checked it out yesterday
i feel a tad spoiled for considering the gs still even though i don’t have it but i really rather it than the es :/

gs350 is RWD and has more ponies (dual injection engine). The es will probably be easier to repair/maintain, but the gs350 is about the sturdiest overall package in the 3rd gen GS range... stupidly reliable from what I've gathered.
450h - batteries down the road, potential brake pump.
