Dashboard removal
Has anyone removed their dashboard? If so, how easy?
These dashboard squeaks and creaks are driving me crazy. I thought it won't bother me as much. I don't drive with the music on at full blast. I'm pretty much this close to trading the car in. I already stuff the gap between the windshield and dashboard, no change. I did shove a putty knife to see if I can localize the squeaks. I don't think the squeaks are occurring on the top portion of the dashboard.

Weird my dash never squeaks except for once when I had a bad tire issue that caused vibrations. Maybe your tires are not balanced/bent wheel and therefor vibrating the dash to where it begins to squeak.
Guys used to grab strip foam and wedge them between the windshield and dash and throughout the dash areas that you think the sound is coming from. I doubt you will need to remove the dash.

I already did the foam wedge trick.
Hmm. I think I found the root cause from another thread. Apparently, the windshield cowl is the issue. I took it out, drove around and no more squeaks and creaks. I modify the cowl a bit, put it back on and no more, for now. It's a warm and humid Christmas day in Texas...I guess I'll wait for a cold snap to see if my new mod works. Looks like someone already did the diy hacksaw prior to my ownership and gave up fixing the squeaks down the road.
I didn't realize the cowl dampens a lot of the engine noise. The DI and engine noise is more distinctive. I would have left the cowl off longer but it looks like it's going to rain here and the battery is exposed.
Well, off to another rattle in the rear....
