Hi everyone. I have recently purchased a 2007 Lexus GS350.It is a Japanese import so is slightly different to the exported models to the USA and other countries.
I love my music and was surprised to find there was no aux input to connect my mp3 player to Lexus included an aux input for the 2008 model onwards...After a lot of searching online,i found a solution to the problem.Usb/bluetooth/aux integration kits are available for most Lexus models. The kit uses the stereo's cd changer port, and once connected is operated by pressing the cd button twice.I did find however that the hard drive section was no longer useable. That was disappointing as i have spent many hours adding songs to it. After further investigation i found that there is a Y cable which can be added to allow the connection of both the HDD and integration kit.I had my local car radio installer do all of the work for me as i didn't want to damage leather /plastic trim etc. Each man to his trade i reckon.
These integration kits are available online and vary in price.Mine cost around $35 US dollars .The total fitting price was $125 NZ.
I am now one very happy camper (Kiwi slang) as i can play music via cd player, hard drive, usb, aux,fm am radio,bluetooth..... This is my 2007 Lexus GS350
Thanks for the links.I have seen these replacement units in various places. If you happen to be a rich Lexus owner then that would be the route to go down.Unfortunately not everyone is in that situation. The integration kit is an excellent cheaper option which takes no functionality away from the original stereo.......
i also had one of those kits, i tried 3 of them they were not bad but after a while you want to be up to date on the new technology out there ,with phoenix android you can finance it from them for a few bucks a month ,. easy to install
but if you want just simple streaming go with vaistech
He's lying, you're looking at well over $300 US for the cheapest and dodgiest AUX kit for this car. I don't know why so many kiwis do this hit and run bull**** thing, it seems to be part of our culture to lie about how cheaply/easily you did something and then go completely silent and even get angry if someone tries to get useful information out of them. It's very common in NZ and very annoying.
Also those chinese tesla screens block some functions like park assist, and are only laid out for left hand drive, so for example on JDM cars the passenger air con controls are on the wrong side of the display and have the wrong label and vice versa, and it's like that for every function.
Basically you're going to get your anus ripped to shreds and handed back to you if you want AUX function in your car. Since it doesn't even have an AUX mode, you'll have to piggy-back the connection on top of another mode like tape or radio.
I'm really regretting buying this car now, I loved right up until I found out that it can't play music because the radio is JDM and everything is too outdated. Like most people in the 21st century I don't own any CDs or tapes anymore.
