i went to lexus of cerritos in southern california for my recall. as i picked up my car i did a walk around and saw that they had backed up another car into mine, or hit something. the service adviser was brought out immediately to speak with me. i have to bring my car back to get the bumper repainted. make sure you guys inspect your car when you pick it up
got my car back today from longo. they completed the recall in a day but in the process of removing the fuel delivery pipe, they discovered the PCV hose was cracked at one end. they're going to replace it with a new one free of charge despite that part being on backorder for another month. other than that, they did refill my gas up to full (says they pumped 9 gallons haha). car drives normal as it should and i don't smell any fuel in the front anymore!
by the way, they ran out of lexus loaner vehicles so i had to get a rental from enterprise next door (free of charge). not surprised with how many 2IS/3GS' that went in for the same recall.
on a side note: glad longo has service techs that know how to drive a slammed car. had my dashcams running while it was there and service tech knew how to angle and slow down on speed bumps when they went for a test drive! def glad!

just had my recall work completed. Had a ES350 loaner car. I love the newer steering wheel design and seats. Sharp looking interior, but the outside is just...meh. I saw a new ES350 F-Sport. Honestly, it looks too much like the GS imo. Not enough differentiation between those two models. Is Lexus going to just dump the GS line? Dealership offered to wash and vacuum my car and fill with gas, but I declined. I had already just washed it and vacuumed it and my employer pays for my gas. I used a decent amount of their gas in the loaner so... I'd call it fair. I was looking for a GS-F on the showroom to slobber on, but couldn't find one.
Recall work completed today. Was postponed a week due to the threat of Hurricane Florence. Took them exactly 2 hours and that included a car wash. No gas offered but my tank was full prior to driving to the dealer.
Have a 2011 GS350 affected by this recall. Just called my preferred dealership and they said the fix would take roughly 2hrs to complete. They can get the part by tomorrow and get the fix done by Monday, 9/10.
However, I'll be heading over there on Mon 9/24 to get this recall done and i'll post an update about the experience (Lexus of Bridgewater, NJ).
Reporting Back: Had the recall work completed today at Lexus of Bridgewater NJ - it took about 2.5 hrs with a synthetic oil change (they had a special running for $69.99 for synthetic) and a wash. Very pleased with the service experience but never had any fuel smells or indication of a problem...just glad it was done quickly and for free.
Took mine in last Friday with a dying battery. S/A initially told me he'd have to order the parts to do the recall work, but subsequently advised they had the parts and asked if I wanted the recall work done while the car was there. I agreed, and after about two hours total it was ready. However, they didn't wash it (they usually do), and no fillup.
Took mine in for battery/recall service last Friday. Salesperson asked if I would be interested in trading and buying a new GS (I was looking at one at the time). I responded I would have bought a new one a year ago, but couldn't stomach the current front end 'cow catcher' grill I'd be looking at every time I went to the garage. She called it the 'big mouth', and indicated others have made the same observation.
Booked mine in a week in advance in Sydney, Australia. Got a NX200T loaner (awful drive compared to the GS), car wash, small box of bespoke chocolates and a pair of Altrex license plate protectors. They apparently vacuumed the car and lost a $2 coin in my centre console replacing it with $0.70c worth of change The service staff knew ahead of time as they asked if I was there for the recall as I walked in, that's professional (or discriminatory lol).

info on the battery recall??
also, i dropped my car off this morning and did oil change as well, got a 2018 NX300 loaner, really really hate the damn thing. sound system suck, MPG is only 28, the UI is worse than any android phone, lack of power, but i do have to admit the seat are super comfy, getting in and out take no effort, i am 30 and i feel old... anyway, dropped off at 10am, got a call say my car ready at 1pm. really really surprise they could do it that quick, maybe coz they been doing all these recall repair so they can do it blindfold now. they wash the car, but didn't fill up anything back, its fine by me.
anyway, car drives and feel the same, and as i was running work errand,
I SMELL GAS!!! REALLY STRONG GAS?! IS IT NORMAL??
i called my dealer right away and my SA was gone, spoke with the phone operator and ask her about it she say the dealers been doing all these recall and i am the first person report this issue, they say if i don't feel safe, feel free to bring it back. i think i am going to test drive it this weekend and bring the car back on monday regardless. just wanted to make sure everything are tight.
i hope this is normal? maybe fuel delivery pipe has a "break-in" period?!
Dealership: Park Place Lexus, Plano - Plano, TX Work Description: Latest Recall, Battery Replaced under ProRated Warranty, Oil Change, 140,000 Inspection
Work was done in less than 24 hours.
Car seems to be slightly more responsive. Gas mileage is the same as always (I drive motivated).
Battery was 43 months old Lexus (Interstate) Battery that was replaced previously under my CPO Warranty.
Inspection shows issues with the "caster bushings" otherwise known as the Front Control Arm Bushing, Rear.
I'm thinking about going with the FIGS 90 replacements instead of OEM, simply for inner tire wear under braking.
Loaner was an RX350. I always request an RX350 before going in as I'm a decent sized guy. 6'3", 250lbs. I'm honestly thinking about trading this in for the RX350, but 3 more payments and its mine. Bought in April 2014 with 53,000 miles and a single owner over 60.
Took mine into Park Place Lexus in Plano, Tx on a Friday and the repair was completed on Tuesday. Requested an RX350 and really enjoyed it. Got a full tank of gas in the GS too! Great service.
