I was sitting in my car today during a storm and noticed water dripping inside my sunroof on both back corners. Is this normal? No wet spots inside and I assume the water is just dripping into the drains in the tracks but wanted to confirm.

Did you change or disconnect your battery recently?
Your sunroof may need to be reprogrammed to close accurately by the one touch mode.

No. How would I reprogram it?

Check your drain holes not to be clogged, there should be 2 on each side over the front sunroof rail and two on the rear sunroof rail.

What? The drain holes are fine. I thought I stated that nothing was getting wet so I assumed it was draining. Just trying to figure out why it’s dripping.

My 4GS exhibited the same dripping while going through the car wash. Turned out my moonroof seal was getting stiff, letting wind noise and water in, but not in the cabin. I replaced the seal (bought and installed myself for ~$50) and there’s no wind noise. I haven’t gone through a car wash since though.

Good to know! Thank you for that! I may look into getting a new seal unless someone else chimes in.

Buy some shin etsu grease, i saw a thread on the LS460 forum about it, and how using it on their window and door seals made the car much much quieter, tried it and can't believe how much of a difference it made! Cheaper than buying an all new seal and you can make your car much quieter on the highway (:

Wat? I’m on mobile so I can confirm but this reeks of spam.

It's not spam, we've been using that grease in the LS 400 forum for years.

Oh. It seemed irrelevant when I read it out of context. Is there a post I can read about how it works, application or cost?

Thanks! That makes sense that it could 'relax' the seal allowing it to seat tighter and seal out that little bit where water is coming in. I will give this a shot and report back.

Over a short period of time, the shin etsu grease slightly swells the seal and improves it to a point where it will be like new again... Of course if the seal is like dry leather, cracked or torn it will not help. I have been using it on my vehicles over the years and it does keep the seals like new.
