Default trunk motor

I recently got my car back from being painted. When I went to open my trunk it open just fine, but when I tried to close it it would lock normally but then would pop open on its own. Anybody else had this issue?

Maybe the trunk opening switch on the back is stuck? They tend to melt, so probably its stuck on the opening position. Give it a check.

dont think so ive checked it all, the button in the dash, took apart the remote to see maybe if the trunk release button was stuck and nothing. It closes and locks like normal but then after a couple of seconds it just pops open again like if I did hit the button the remote to unlock again. smh

Do you have a spare key fob? Try using that one and see if it happens, just to discard.

Also, does your car have any electronic accessories installed? like aftermarket stuff

Ok, I asked for the key fob in case the key trunk button was shorted inside, humidity or leaking battery could cause that.

I haven't had the problem experienced by the OP, but my truck won't close properly after it's opened. I have to pull the emergency release lever that glows in the dark, then proceed to close the trunk. It's annoying.
