Default Trunk not opening w/remote or dash button

Other than checking the fuse and the valet switch, anything else to look for when the trunk will not open via the key or the dash switch? The car does make the beep when the key remote is pressed, but no open. Also, the top works fine. Gas door works fine. Manual release of trunk also works.

Other suggestions to look at?

It's possible one accidentally hit the "top down" button for a fraction of a second (but did not complete the full open/close process) then immediately hit the trunk button, in which case the trunk will not open. (I know because I did this. )

You have to remove the bottom cover of the center console, then pull the loop device at the bottom and the trunk should open. (At least mine did.) Once I got the trunk open, I then closed it, and ran a complete roof open-shut cycle to make sure it didn't happen again.

Johnny Maybe you should check any of the wiring that is adjacent to the switch you and Habious had worked on when you replaced that switch in the trunk. Its possible that harness or wire came loose maybe its in the path of any part of the trunk mechinism that moves and might have worked loose.

You sure have had in recent months some really strange gremlins. You need a gremlin bell. I have one of these mythical bells on both of my motorcycles There rumored to work maybe work on cars also. Bikes are subject to more vibration and other disturbances water wind etc.

Any other ideas. I have the same problem. Just started today. Initially I could hear a weak click when I hit the trunk button, now nothing. Roof opens fine. Glovebox switch is in the proper position.Manual cable works fine. I did recently remove the trunk garnish to work on the antenna motor, anything I could have accidently hit?

If you had worked around the trunk garnish that would be the first place I would look. If problem showed up after you had done something thats where I would start

Buddy, I should have given you props at the time. You hit the nail on the head. And you are probably on the money with nasafan's problem also.

So do tell what wire or connector was loose. I assume you fixed it.

Forgot to add that I did leave the wiring harness disconnected from the antenna motor. I need to replace the antenna but got tired of the motor running with the broke antenna parts inside of it. Is there any power running to the trunk latch that goes through that harness also?
