Unofficial Street Drag
Hello all.
So as an ex Boat Racer, I'm a frustrated street racer.. I challenge every vehicle I see that looks like I have a fair chance of winning. I ran a 5.0 mustang 2005, sounded nice, looked beautiful, off the line to about a quarter mile it was all me by a half car length. We stopped at the next light, he looked over to me and gave me the traditional thumbs up. Now, I haven't modified my 2008 GS 350, but it sure does haul the mail and a whole lotta fun to drive!
BTW, I've run against Chargers, Challengers, Audi's to name a few, odd that I haven't lost yet, a matter of time I guess.
Anyone else out there have a few drags to share?
Be careful out there!

Not going to lie... I've lined up with a couple in my time. We're not all saints here Raced an ISF once, and of course I lost, but it wasn't as much of a murder scene as I expected. Only other time was a highway run against an A5, and I took him out really easily.

Good one...
I also ran a Range Rover Sport SVR out on the tollway (I won't say where), is was late at night, him (or her), I couldn't tell because the windows were dark tinted. Anyway, I stuffed my foot in it and it marched, we ran for what seemed to be miles. The Range Rover actually kept up with me, I had some left, he (or she) did not,, I crept away by a quarter panel. It was not until I took another look down at my instruments I was right at 130 MPH and pulled my foot out of it. My girlfriend was impressed, so was I, I was smiling the rest of the ride.

I got smoked in my 460 by an RS5, went home and saw they do 60 in under 4 seconds, I never stood a chance haha. but I'd say 90% of cars I see on a daily basis can't pass me.

my co workers dodge chager 6.2 hemi ,his car weights to much when we get on the highway he floors it then i pass him. i put it in power mode and shift to 3rd ,i pass him every time once i hit 5th then cruise into 6th,his car is very nice inside, im installing a Dodge UConnect for his smartphone

I've had a few since I got the car. I'll mention the losses as the wins were expected and most weren't a contest. Was neck and neck with a q50s 3.7 until 60 then he started pulling away. Underestimated it, that car is quick. Ran with a new genesis 5.0 sedan. Similar result car runs nice. I did put to shame a 13 gs350 f sport especially in the higher speeds. Today was playing with a new is350 f sport on the highway. The is wouldn't keep up after 90 mph. All runs in Mexico of course. The 460 is a nice motor for the higher speed runs but now a days 342 hp isn't enough to keep up with these newer cars.

Your right.. 342 HP seems pale compared to the newer cars @ 400 + out of the factory, some of these are 2.0L motors so weight to HP ratio is pretty amazing. That's not diminishing our HP to weight ratio though, our Lexus's are a bit on the heavy side, the blend of comfort and performance is pretty amazing in and of itself.
I've read about programming ECU chip to gain some, but not certain of what gains exactly. I know from experience that no matter what the motor, if your gains are at the low end you'll loose some at the top and vise versa.
I think I'll go for a drive today and look for a few new mustangs to pick on! Beautiful day here, cool and dry..

The 400 will always hold a special place in my heart as the best overall sedan ever made (personal opinion). My 460 has been an awesome car overall, aside from the rattling interior and squeaky bushings up front). The low-end power is pretty good, mid-range is excellent for what it is, and top-end is a little weak, but not terrible. Handling is great, especially in sport mode, the 8-speed is amazing and smooth, and the stock exhaust note is pretty enjoyable. Definitely a great daily driver.

Clarification:
Frustrated Street racer. I've not officially race a car on the street or otherwise. I simply line up with whoever wants to challenge me and stuff my foot in it.
Always be careful out there!
