Even experienced, good techs often use shot gun method but it is only effective if the tech knows what he is upto. TS itself is logical process, process of elimination following the logic. Worst is intermittent problem which will take long time to nail the problem. Cold makes things shrink. It could be simply a loose connection inside a connector for an example. If tach signal is weak or missing engine will shut down as soon as it starts. It could be a loose battery connection. First thing, first, basic thing first. If cool(I wouldn't say near freezing temp. is cold) weather caused it. I'd leave a heater under the hood over night and try in the morning to see what happens. Maybe there is water in the fuel tank/line. If one lets fuel level to low in the tank condensation will form inside tank(water). Again basics first rather than jump off to big things like
the dealer is telling.

He says he sure it's not keyfob or push button but nevery checked. He also say he don't think reflash or reprogramming fob or ecu will fix. They need to swap out but still not sure that's the issue. So Imma call cooperate Monday
They couldn't figure it out after 12hrs and have the nerve to charge for 8 hrs for their failure? Tell them go send your tech to lexus to go learn some more diagnostics. I would call lexus and complain

no worse, they couldn't figure it out after 4 days. Yesterday (day5) they wanna drop dash to check if it's immobilizer or wiring connections. They was gonna charge me 12 just to take out dash. Told them no, they lowered to 8hr. I told them no. They said they gonna check one more thing Monday. If don't figure out then they gonna ask if they can proceed with dash. But my mind made up. I'm just gonna call lexus coop Monday and make them pay to fix or refund. I'm shocked that 5 days and they can't figure out it?
