HELP! Need to figure what kind of fog light bulb this is
Hi all,
I'm hoping someone here can hep me out on this one. Can anyone identify exactly what kind of HID fog light bulb this is/ Can anyone tell me where I'd be able to buy a spare?
I had a fog light bulb blow out on my '09 GS350 AWD. When I removed it I realized it's an aftermarket bulb (installed by the car's previous owner). The bulb has no manufacturer markings, or barely markings of any kind. Take a look:
The bulb cannot be separated from this wiring harness. Some of the wires connect to an HID ballast that must also be part of the aftermarket install.
The bulb has '9006' imprinted right by the base of the bulb itself.
There is a sleeve that wraps around the base of the bulb that reads "125 C."
On one of the wires is the text " 600v VW1."
That's about all the identifiable markings I can find. No manufacturer markings, no model name, no nothing. I figure its a cheap aftermarket bulb, so finding an exact copy may be a crapshoot.
Any help you can provide is really appreciated. Thanks in advance,
Christian

You're gonna have to buy a whole new hid kit. They're only $50-100. You might be able to buy a hid kit bulb, but that's gonna be $20 or so and it might not match the other side.
I also trimmed off that extra wire and rubber grommet on my hid kit when installing mine.

Bulb size is 9006, and kelvin temp to your desired preference.
DDM offers replacement bulbs at $15 pair, I recommend changing both so the kelvin temp/tint will match. You probably will need to cut that rubber grommet to separate the ballast harness from the bulb harness, as the new bulbs will come with a new harness and you may reuse your ballast harness. They offer a one year warranty, at $15/pair, that's a WIN.
