Hi All, this is my first post on the forum, im from the UK. I wanted to know if the third gen GS430 had the 3UZ-FE engine? I wanted to convert the vehicle to LPG, and currently a direction injection engine (e.g. the 'FSE' model engines) cannot not be converted to run on LPG.
Man After running LPG in one of my previous Landcruisers, I wouldnt again. Backfires, slow and damages valves. You have a Lexus, sacrafice the fuel bill, for the quality...please!
Is the LPG switchable to run regular gas? While vacation in Africa the taxi's had that type of setup. Where they would switch to propane on the highway use (low rpm), but use gas for city use.
He claims the propane burns colder and cleaner then gas.
gs430 is not direct injection
ibidu1 most cars have to start on gasoline and when engine gets temperature switch to lpg, lpg tanks are mostly instaled in spare wheel compartment

Seriously, waste of a 3UZ IMO... OP should've waited for a GS300, and ruined that instead! My uncle did the same in an old 750il he had... after a few months car would refuse to run off straight gas and misfired and drove as if it was running on 6 of 12 cylinders!

All the kits are made like this, the initial cranking over is done using gas and once it reaches a certain RPM it switches automatically [like a hybrid] or if you use the manual button to switch it immediately after starting it up.
For fleets this is a good solution to run 'recyclable' cars for much cheaper [taxi Crown vics]. IIRC some states have this setup to save on costs and supposedly 'save the earth'...
