Default Low gas + shudder problem

I encountered a problem today where i had low fuel (with light on), 22 mile range, and at a full stop, my shuddered. Have anyone had such problem? The shudder almost felt like motor was about to die and hesitated. I been noticing such issue when i have low fuel. Any ideas?

I have had this as well but not when my fuel is low but various times. I am also interested in responses to this problem. I've had the valve spring recall done too.

How many miles do you have on the car? I had this problem last year. My service advisor told me it could be my fuel pump struggling to get what little gas was left in the tank or deposits left on the pump or anywhere else along the fuel line (pump, injectors etc. )He advised that I try to run a fuel system cleaner and report back. Ran 2 bottles of Techron fuel system cleaner two tanks in a row and allowed gas to run down to 5-10 miles each time, haven’t had a shudder since. Try it, couldn't hurt. Report back and let us know. Good luck!

Let me guess... it's a 3xx? maybe a GS350? those seem to have a lot more problems than my GS430.

this is common in most cars. when you hardly ever let your car get low on gas then you run low one day you will start to pick up the minute deposits of dirt or any other substance that might be in your tank.

i usually grab a can of B12 chemtool and put it in when your car gets low, pop the hood and let your car run, go in the house watch the game and when your car runs out of gas refuel it with the gas can that u have sitting in your garage. i would use about a 1/4 can to 1/8 a tank of gas since you wont be driving the car. that should clean up most of the trash and moisture in the bottom of your tank.

UPDATE:
Just gassed up @ chevron 91 and when coming to a stop my gs shuddered. I been browsing the is forum and it seems that such problem is normal. Can anyone shed some light into this matter. I have 06 gs300 RWD with 50k miles. Used the scanner and no codes popped up.

Every now and then, when starting my car (usually a cold start..not Temperature cold) after work or first thing in the morning, I get the shudder, rough running also. I have had the dealer clen my fuel intake system at the 60k service, now have about 72k on her. This happens rarely but it does concern me. Any ideas? 2006 GS300 RWD.

When was the last time you gave the car a bootful?
Otherwise known as an Italian tune-up!

Your Chevron has Techron, the additive licensed from BG Products, which their 44K has in a greater concentration.
I'd give the car a good wot (wide open throttle) in 2nd and 3rd in semi-manual mode, and then monitor the shuddering.
If it still does it any time before you let the low-fuel warning come on, then fire a can of 44K in and refill to the brim with Chevron.
Drive it gently and let it use the fuel slowly, and as per instructions, refill when you're 1/3 full.
Run that through as slowly too - the longer it's in the tank the more time it has to do the job.
Again, monitor for shuddering and see if it changes as you go through both tankfuls.

If nothing changes, then it's time to do some more investigating.
At 50K, you're not quite there yet for changing the spark plugs, but it wouldn't do any harm if you did, depending on how far off your next service is due.
