Default ballast

hello everybody, i have a 06 gs 300 and i am experiencing headlight issues. my passenger side lights wouldnt turn on and i had my bulb replaced last year but after a few days that also started giving up on me. i changed my bulbs yesterday and what i noticed was that the bottom part of my bulb was burnt. this tells me there is some sort of short circuiting going on. i was thinking of changing the ballast to see if that resolves the issue. does any body have steps or can direct me to a thread that has the steps. i have done extensive search and i have been unable to find it.

any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks
umair

you can use this thread for the front bumper removal. once you got the bumper off its pretty easy.

the red circles show you where the bolts are that hold the headlights on to the car. once you remove those and unclip the harness, the headlight will come out

once you have the headlight out, flip the light over and you will see the ballast on the bottom. remove the 4 screws out of each corner and the ballast will come free but you still have to get the connector out (circled in red).

it wont fit through the opening where the bulb goes because they is a little plasitc lever there. you can remove that with an allen key. the screw for that is circled in red

once you got that out, you can remove the ballast from the headlight
